Round any quantity up to the next even number.
Dining chairs only ship in pairs. In C2:C6 give the number of chairs to order for each request — the request rounded up to an even number.
Solve it on your own to keep the bonus. Each hint gets one step closer to the formula.
The same formula in the other shapes it takes at work.
This is the grid you start with. Cell references in the task — B6, C2 — point at the row numbers and column letters below.
| A | B | C | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Customer | Chairs wanted | Chairs to order |
| 2 | Cafe Uno | 7 | |
| 3 | Bistro Dos | 12 | |
| 4 | Tre Tavoli | 1 | |
| 5 | Four Seasons Deli | 15 | |
| 6 | Cinque | 20 |
EVEN always rounds away from zero, so 7 becomes 8 and 1 becomes 2 — never down to 6 or 0, which would leave a customer short. That one-direction behaviour is what makes it right for pack sizes of two.
