Hours × 60 plus minutes — the reverse of TIME.
The phone system wants call lengths in whole minutes. In C2:C6 convert each duration in B into a total number of minutes.
Solve it on your own to keep the bonus. Each hint gets one step closer to the formula.
The same formula in the other shapes it takes at work.
This is the grid you start with. Cell references in the task — B6, C2 — point at the row numbers and column letters below.
| A | B | C | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Call | Duration | Minutes |
| 2 | K1 | 0:45 | |
| 3 | K2 | 1:20 | |
| 4 | K3 | 2:05 | |
| 5 | K4 | 0:08 | |
| 6 | K5 | 3:30 |
HOUR and MINUTE read the parts of a time, and arithmetic puts them back together in a different unit. MINUTE alone would say 20 for an 80-minute call — the hour has to be counted too.
