Point k at a cell and fill down for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
The month's three biggest orders go on the dashboard. Column D holds 1, 2 and 3. In E2:E4 give the 1st, 2nd and 3rd largest order values.
Solve it on your own to keep the bonus. Each hint gets one step closer to the formula.
The same formula in the other shapes it takes at work.
This is the grid you start with. Cell references in the task — B6, C2 — point at the row numbers and column letters below.
| A | B | C | D | E | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Order | Value | Position | Value | |
| 2 | O-1 | 1450 | 1 | ||
| 3 | O-2 | 3820 | 2 | ||
| 4 | O-3 | 960 | 3 | ||
| 5 | O-4 | 2775 | |||
| 6 | O-5 | 3820 | |||
| 7 | O-6 | 1990 | |||
| 8 | O-7 | 2410 |
Reading k from a cell turns one formula into the whole list. Notice that two orders share the top value, so 1st and 2nd are both 3,820: LARGE lists values, not distinct values — which is right for "the three biggest orders".
