A later name can use an earlier one.
Each invoice line needs its gross amount: net plus 20% VAT. In C2:C6 use LET to name the net amount, then name the VAT calculated from it, and return their sum.
Solve it on your own to keep the bonus. Each hint gets one step closer to the formula.
The same formula in the other shapes it takes at work.
This is the grid you start with. Cell references in the task — B6, C2 — point at the row numbers and column letters below.
| A | B | C | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Line | Net | Gross |
| 2 | L1 | 250 | |
| 3 | L2 | 89.5 | |
| 4 | L3 | 1200 | |
| 5 | L4 | 15 | |
| 6 | L5 | 640 |
The final expression, net+vat, reads like the sentence that describes it. Names are evaluated in order, so each can build on the ones before — the same way you would set out the working on paper.
