The second argument decides where the week starts — and makes weekends easy to test.
Subtract how far into the week you are, then jump a week ahead.
This is the grid you start with. Cell references in the task — B6, C2 — point at the row numbers and column letters below.
| A | B | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Delivery date | Day type |
| 2 | 3/1/2024 | |
| 3 | 3/2/2024 | |
| 4 | 3/3/2024 | |
| 5 | 3/4/2024 | |
| 6 | 3/8/2024 | |
| 7 | 3/9/2024 |
With the default numbering, Sunday is 1 and Saturday is 7, so the weekend is split across both ends and needs an OR. Return type 2 puts the weekend together at 6 and 7, which turns the test into a single comparison.
